Microsoft launched the Microsoft Copilot app, Bing Chat, an AI for Android smartphones. The Bing Chat app debuted on Google’s Play Store on December 19. Microsoft said the Copilot app could enhance user productivity by offering features that allow users to generate responses, create visuals from complex questions within GPT-4 and DALL·E 3, and the ability to draft text for emails and documents. It also includes free access to OpenAI’s latest GPT-4 model.
The AI technologies provide fast, complex, and precise responses. Users who sign up via Microsoft Entra ID (a cloud-based identity and access management solution) can access all copilot services. With this app, Microsoft is committed to integrating artificial intelligence seamlessly into everyday mobile interactions.
“Over time, our vision is to expand Copilot to any Entra ID user at no additional cost, so wherever and whenever an employee signs into Copilot with their work account, they will get commercial data protection,” the company said.
For data privacy concerns, Microsoft ensures that no data is shared with third parties or collected without explicit consent. Users can also request the deletion of their data to ensure user security. While the app is currently exclusive to Android, iOS users can access similar Copilot features through the Bing app to ensure that a wider user base can benefit from the capabilities of Microsoft’s AI technology. “Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterprise will now simply become Copilot,” said Colette Stallbaumer, general manager of Microsoft 365.
So far, the Microsoft Copilot app has been overwhelmingly positive, with a perfect five-star rating based on over 5,000 downloads. Users appreciate the app’s functionality and the seamless integration of AI features into their mobile experience.
